Grade Levels:  K-5

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with a Special Education Endorsement
• Highly Qualified, as defined by the Michigan Department of Education
• Learning Disability endorsement and/or Emotional Impairment endorsement
• Experience developing, writing, and implementing IEPs
• Experience using Illuminate software
• Ability to communicate and consult with general education teachers to coordinate the implementation of IEP goals, including accommodations and modifications in the general education setting
• Knowledge of Common Core State Standards and experience in administering and interpreting assessments (NWEA, Acadience, STAR, state assessments, etc.)
• Knowledge and experience in highly engaging instructional strategies, including the use of technology

 

Responsibilities: 

• Inform instruction and communicate with parents and general education staff
• Communicate/Collaborate effectively with Special Education teachers and administrators
• Develop, write, and implement IEP’s
